Keep that Content Coming!

Marketing experts seem to agree: Traditional marketing is becoming less and less effective. Content marketing is the way to go.

So....What in the world is content marketing?

LMGTFY*: “Content marketing is a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly-defined audience-and ultimately, to drive profitable customer action.”

Basically, by continuously creating content that is relevant to your consumers, you have the power to change and enhance their behavior.

Content Marketing that Really Works!

After you’ve done all the dirty work and learned about your customers, it’s time to get that brain flowing and get creative! There are many different ways to approach this and it is important to utilize multiple strategies to keep your consumers on their toes and coming back for more. Here are a few ways you can communicate to your consumers:

  • Blogs
    • This allows you to build relationships through delivering engaging content that reaches your consumers on a personal level via research.
      • Implement google adwords to give yourself the best opportunity for customers to stumble upon your blog.  ( http://www.wordstream.com/google-ads )
  • Images
    • Yes, great content written in blogs captures the minds of consumers, but most of any communication that is made is nonverbal, this means that most of what people tell each other happens outside of the words you say. Through engaging pictures, illustrations and graphics there is a real opportunity for you as a consumer to amplify what your are trying to relay to your customers and grab their attention.
  • Video
    • Think about this one for a second, have you ever been scrolling through twitter or trying to research how to do something, and instead of reading a lengthy article you watch a short video clip? This a a unique way to communicate different types of content (I.E; Interviews, demonstrations how-to guides, and other types of brand specific information you would like to share with your consumers)
  • Testimonials
    • A humble brag that is a very socially acceptable way to showcase how amazing your store is! By gathering comments from satisfied customers and publishing that information, it allows for future customers to get a real sense of how your brand connects with others, and they can see just how great your store really is.
